The role women have played in the rise of digital entertainment has been a controversial one. Reply girls made their mark on Youtube which would be the first instance of the Youtube algorithm(it is actually artificial intelligence, but people get scared when they hear that so, I'll just call it the algorithm) changing. It set up the blueprint to affect how money would be made on a billion dollar platform. After reply girls died out.
