Exmoor Podcast Adam James

MRLG (MInehead Rail Link Group) is a campaign headed up by Alex de Mendoza and David Latimer for a rail service from Minehead and West Somerset to Taunton, Bristol and Cardiff. David is a former British Rail and GWR staff member and was a rep for the RMT (The National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers).

Was closed in 1971 under the Beeching act.
WSR – West Somerset Railway re-opend it and ran its first train to Bishops Lydeard in December 1975
At 20 miles it’s the longest privately owned passenger rail line in Britain.

Welcome to first episode of the Minehead & exmoor Chronicle Podcast. This episode features an interveiw with Don Davis who is the owner of a local event photography business and a drummer of some repute.
Don was born and spent his formative years in London - shunning the opportunity to start an engineering apprentiship he followed his boyhood dream of becoming a muscian but after a serious accident this had to be put on the back burner and he took a job as a motorcycle dispatch rider.
A few years down the line he moved to West Somerset and started an event photography business and sometimes teaches drum lessons in one of the local schools and the rest as they say is history.
