Abraham > Isaac > Jacob > Joseph > Egypt> 400 years > Moses > I AM
Exodus 11:9
Exodus 14:17-18
Exodus 12:12-13
Exodus 19:20
God gave the Law to a group of people who were already in a relationship with Him.
Exodus 20:1-3
> That’s the pattern of a relationship with God.
>>“I am the God who initiates relationship.”
Law was never given as a means to get in to relationship with God.
There’s something in us that wants to earn our way.
Are you trying to earn God’s acceptance?…
“God, I accept your acceptance of me.” -
StoryLine: Promise (Pt 3)
Message by Todd Crosthwaite, Lead Pastor
Abraham: Promise
Genesis 11:27-32
Genesis 12:1-4

I will make you a great nation.
I will make your name great.
All peoples of the earth will be blessed through you.
Galatians 3:8
Why?
Genesis 15:1-6
What God wants most from us is to trust Him.
Trust paves the way to relationship.
What do you have a hard time trusting God with?
“Lord, bring me to the place where I’m able to trust you with __________.” -
StoryLine: Potential (Pt 2)
Message by Todd Crosthwaite, Lead Pastor
Genesis 1 & 2
Adam - POTENTIAL
...one rule
Genesis 3:1-12
Paradise > deception > distrust > disobedience > death
Romans 5:12
What do we do now?
Vs 9:
God wanted Adam to know where Adam was.
God wanted Adam to know that He was looking for Him.
Genesis 3:21
The only thing keeping me from God’s grace is my hiding and my blaming.
Are you hiding? Are you blaming? -
No Ordinary Parade
Message by Bob Crosthwaite, Pastor Emeritus
Matthew 21:1-11
A paradox: a true statement that at first appears contradictory.
Palm Sunday is sort of like a re-enactment.
Zechariah 9
Jesus’ words will never send you on a “fool’s errand”.
John 11:25-26
The 1st paradox:
The Almighty King rode into Jerusalem to die!
Palm trees represent success and triumph.
Luke 19:40
The 2nd paradox:
Jesus showed Himself to be a humble king who came to serve us by dying on the cross.
There is a part of each of us that needs the calm, and peace, and comfort that only Jesus can bring.
Many paradoxes center on the person of Jesus.
He is:
both Lamb AND Shepherd
both King AND Servant
both Gift AND Cost
both our death AND our life.
Blessed (spiritually happy) is he who comes to the Father in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ! -
Resurrection (it's essential)
Message by Todd Crosthwaite, Lead Pastor
Tension...
between the life and teachings of Jesus
and the resurrection of Jesus
1 Corinthians 15:14-20
1 Corinthians 15:3-8
This changes everything! -
