Not many podcasts can compete with this. The beautiful piano part in the intro alone makes me dream of ancient times and inspires me to find further reads/listens of the topics presented. Not only very well written, also a great storytelling voice that manages to keep me focused on the episode, and suddenly hours pass by… This series has inspired me to elevate my knowledge in our history and has helped me discover so much more depth and perspective. One of the best or THE BEST history podcast

The writing is exquisite and the narration is great. Lots of research and effort was put into this podcast. Enjoyed every episode so far. I listened to some episodes twice since the gap between the release of each episode is long. I keep looking for new episode release. But I understand the reason for the long wait, lots of time goes into making of an episode.

The best!
Would be great if not for an obvious bias about ” the bad westerners”

I really liked the episodes about the ancient civilisations, obviously a lot of work has been put into each episode. Were it only for those I would have given a five star review. But the Easter Island episode was so one sided to prove the podcasters bias towards ” awful westerners who singlehandedly destroy the paradise of indigenous people” that I lost interest. He rejects any other theory in a rather patronising way.And the theory about how the statues walked is not new in any way-it was proven, by the podcaster so despised, Norwegian explorer Tor Heyerdahl over fifty years ago!
