This show is brought to you by the Justice Reform League , a Fort Worth based non-profit focusing on educating and empowering Texans to become politically active and advocate for yourselves and your communities. The Fort Worth Freedom Review exists to serve that goal and the residents of the State of Texas. We will spend much of our time focusing on issues and policy that relates to Fort Worth and Tarrant County. While it is true that many of the problems that exist in our communities can solely be addressed and solved at the municipal level, there are also a number of issues that can only be resolved at the State level. Therefore, we will also discuss issues and policy regarding the State of Texas. Navigating the layers of our bureaucracy is difficult, and it is meant to be. If you don’t know who your city council representative is, what district you are in, who your State Representative or State Senator is or how they are supposed to function in the system--then it is very easy for those who wish to use the power of the office for personal benefit to continue doing so. If democracy is to function properly, you need an educated populace. You need information. You need the truth. We are here to bring it all together so when you go into the voting booth on any election day you are prepared with the knowledge of how to vote best for your community. *Dr. Cornel West* says “v oting is a tool, not a mode of self-expression. " We are here to show you how to use that tool most effectively.
