LAN Party weekly podcast - 12/15/2008

Welcome to another edition of the Candy Racket Podcast, where we've somehow boarded an unstoppable train of free junk food. This week, after thanking fans from all over the world who were kind and gracious enough to send us several treat-filled packages, we check in on Matt's newly finished (and badass) gaming PC, and talk a bit about some Steam-related weirdness.

LAN Party weekly podcast - 12/03/2008

In our tragically late Thanksgiving episode of LAN Party, special guests Alice Liang and Jade Kraus fill in for the absent Robert Ashley and Matt Chandronait. We discuss our Left 4 Dead co-op experiences, call out our most anticipated of games of 2009, and read a few listener-submitted letters.

LAN Party weekly podcast - 11/20/2008

After some talk about Left 4 Dead, Wrath of the Lich King, and hypothetical Guitar Hero copyright infringement, Anthony Gallegos discusses his recent hands-on time with Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 2. Meanwhile, the poorly implemented soundproofing material in the new podcasting studio caves in, burying the entire LAN Party crew alive.

In our first podcast from the new recording "studio" (apologies in advance for any weird audio glitches), we spend some time discussing the finer points of Left 4 Dead, Call of Duty: World at War's portrayal of the Japanese military, and the new World of WarCraft: Wrath of the Lich King expansion.

A must have for those out there serious about: 1) gaming 2) Fun

I have listened to these guys ramble on about games and life for oh, a year or so now and I am absolutely thrilled everytime I see iTunes presenting a new episode. To me, it can't be all about content (1up Show/Shane B) it must be a SHOW at the same time, so therefore I present to you the cast:

Jeff Green - A master at crafting the deadly art of sarcasm and self deprecation. Old bones sharing memories of decades in game.

Ryan Scott - Silent, all to silent because when he speaketh even mother nature holds it's breath. I love his über-geek level of humor. MORE!

Babito - Good bag of fun, packed with stories and comments that will make you laugh and smile. Probably the most sane of the bunch.

Andrew - Newcomer, but his earnestness and serious tone is making what he says hilarious. Very good and fitting with the crew, was stunned when I heard he was leaving the show over an argument but it all turned out to be an elaborate prank (see, these guys aren't serious about anything). Thank goodness for that.

S. Elliot. Sadistic and dominating, scary combo with a past that would make a great movie (American Movie-style). Talks a bit too much (boxing Ryan Scott in) but all good stuff. His Ralphie-voice act outs are golden.

Why did I list these guys in a review? Well, they review for a living and I wanted to convey the personalities going in. It's like hanging down at the local bar for juuust one more beer. You really should be going but the company is good and every minute spent with them elevates the mood before going back to normal-life mode.
You need this one on the iPod peeps.
For reference: I also listen to CAG, Sarcastic gamer and Videogameoutsiders. Common theme - Great show, sometime at the expense of content, but would you really want to have it the other way?

Ps. Now the cast is reduced, Shawn Elliot and Jeff Green are of to pastures green. The show retains its witty humor and style. Ryan Scott did a good number on the first show and Anthony is a real keeper - Keep it coming guys - awesome stuff in the making. Ds.

The podcasts created by the 1UP staff are the best there is. They have deep intelligent discussions about games. Shawn Elliot and Jeff Green are definitely the highlights of this show.

Shawn is king!

Allthough I am a mac user and actually don't play PC games this is my favourite podcast. These guys could be talking about knitting and I would still listen to it.
Make no mistake, they talk a lot about pc gaming... but they mix it up with anecdotes about life, lost theories, griefing stories, consoll gaming et c
