Day 3: The Mystery of Being Satisfied by God

John 4:4-9,31-35

1. Food: physical need that is real and direct

1) Satisfaction through faith in His promise

2) Realise a higher need = will of God

3) Experience real satisfaction from the Holy Spirit

4) Open up great Doors of Evangelism


2. Doing the will of God

Ro 12:1-2
Ro 14:17

1) Wage War against the devil to know (hate) him - flesh, world

2) Till The Truth Lives In You
Pray till:
(1) Make Christ Saviour of your lives (kingship)
(2) Have the kingdom as our concern
(3) Will of God to be clear
(4) Careful obedience

(5) Righteousness, peace and joy in the Spirit

Righteousness = Way of the gospel
E.g. Spousal living, E.g. Church = Make JX King

3. Kingdom will come! (On earth as it is in heaven)

Keys
1) Poor in Spirit, Broken and contrite

2) Yearn being persecuted (suffer loss because of righteousness)

3) Strong Brethren

4) Gospel Culture

Covenant: you have to find out how your struggles have to do with the covenant
Seek His Will

1. Our Lord Jesus Struggles

1) Days: 33 years (living in flesh)

2) Climax: Gethsemane

2. How did the Lord Jesus Christ struggle?

1) Desperate pleading with intense ferventness

2) True Concern:

(1) Glory of God = Will of God

(2) Righteousness / Holiness of God: ways of Gospel

(3) People of God


3. Making Jesus’ struggle my struggle

Heb 12:1-2, 5-7, 10-11

1) Lay aside the struggle that is so familiar (carnal, earthly, typical)
(1) Weight / Burden of life
(2) Sin that easily entangles

2) Author and Perfecter of our faith: Jesus Christ
= Spirit of God interceding

3) Fix our eyes on Him - Scorn the shame of the cross

4) Joy of victory: Scorn the shame of the cross

5) Endure hardship as discipline

1. The Fallen Angels -> Know & confirm his presence and works accurately

1) Always working against the Truth of God - Lies

2) Powerful and Delusive

3) Occupying Power

4) No way to go against him


2. People in Christ

1) Power that has been conquered by Christ in us!

2) Total Reliance upon Christ

3) Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayer and all kinds of requests
(1) Identity - Spirit of Sonship
(2) Promise of God - Kingdom purpose
(3) Seek the will of the Father


3. Submission

James 4:4-8
(1) Sin, (2) Double-mindedness

1) Submission to God = Resist the Devil

2) Challenge: Physical sins + Double-mindedness

3) Grieve, mourn, wail.. gloom
