Snarklefarker’s Nightclub at unSCruz, Santa Cruz Regional

Meet Baron Snarklefarker, aka Brian, and Jim from Snarklefarker’s Nightclub, a Burning Man Regional Theme Camp at unSCruz near Santa Cruz, CA.  Heavy on the swanky decoration themed in black, red, and marble, it’s the type of club vampires might hang out.  It’s meant to be sexy, sensual, dark and stylish.  And is it ever!  Think old timey playground that is curated to the nines!   We also talk about how unSCruz started and how they were able to pull off making a nightclub at a regional weekend event.

Update with the Magic Lantern Society of BRC

Update with the Magic Lantern Society of BRC

We meet up with Monica Wu, co-founder of Magic Lantern Society, a wonderfully curated, old-timey space inside a beautiful, big tent.  It’s where many burners find enchantment and tell stories, share experiences and co-mingle.  We talk about the many places and events that their lovely, intimate space has participated in over the years since they were first guests in 2018.  We talk about unSCruz Regional weekend 2024 where Monica and Rob are running a theme camp called Adventure Scouts which will be a kid-centered camp with fun stuff for kids.  We learn how Monica and Rob are just starting their journey of having a child and integrating children into their burner experience.
This conversation was recorded on Shouting Fire online global burner network.  This podcast is not associated with the Burning Man Organization.  It’s just a burner podcast.

Meet Chelsea Bronson aka Catalyst! Burner, Volunteer, Enviro Steward and Tea Carp Founder

Meet Chelsea Bronson aka Catalyst! Burner, Volunteer, Enviro Steward and Tea Carp Founder

Meet Chelsea Bronson, aka Catalyst.  Founder of the Tea Carp, volunteer for Burning Man for over ten years, and seasonal staff member at Burning Man. For the past 4 years she has been the Leave No Trace Compliance Special Ops and for the past 3 has been a MOOP Scribe for Playa Restoration; DPW.
Before going to Burning Man, Catalyst created an accredited internship program with Burning Man and the Communications Team. Since then she has burned every year and has volunteered for the Media Documentation Team, Burning Man Community Events Team, and for Burning Man hosted events such as Artist Symposium, Theme Camp Symposium, Global Leadership Conference, and Artumnal Gathering.
We talk about her volunteer experience, how it enriches her life.  We include how you might get involved in volunteering, how many get started and where it can lead.
    What is the Tea Carp?
The Tea Carp is a mobilized art installation that seeks to provide a safe ground for persons to merry-make, fill their cups, connect, and share human experiences together.  We offer themed, pop-up B.Y.O.C. tea services throughout the event. Each tea is made one cup at a time as we hold an appreciation for “slow service”. We savor time, experience, and one another; giving our guests a taste of this with their tea. Once they hand over their cup, visitors are invited to spend quali-tea time with those around them.A wooden tea house, which only leaves memories behind and is intended to bring beings together around points of interest.
The Tea Carp has been invited to the Burning Man Regional near Santa Cruz, California called  unSCruz 2024: Portal of Possibilities!

    Musician, Performer, Volunteer, BWB Burner!
With Kate Robinson from Tenderloin Community Benefit District, San Francisco
Meet MissConception aka Sara Nicole Glass who is an amazing musician, performer, and volunteer for Burners Without Borders. Miss Conception produced a community-empowering event supporting local artists as well as raising funds for Burners Without Borders in late December 2023. Funds were donated to the Tenderloin Community Benefit District, a non profit in San Francisco supporting the families in the Tenderloin.
Lastly, we talk about her other burner volunteer experiences and how they have enriched her life -  specifically volunteering at unSCruz put on by Santa Cruz Regional burners happening in the south Bay the first weekend of May and the recent Burnal Equinox event on March 9 at Public Works put on by San Francisco Community Events Team. So much to learn from MissConception!
Burners Without Borders, San Francisco Chapter, is doing some great things to empower the community around the Tenderloin in San Francisco. Joining us is Kate Robinson who talks to us about projects in the Tenderloin for 2024 and how you can get involved. Then talk about how others who are not local to SF can find out about their own community chapters of Burners Without Borders. There’s plenty of philanthropy for burners to get involved in and there are lots of chapters all over the world.
The MISSION of Burners Without Borders:  BWB promotes activities around the globe that support a community's inherent capacity to thrive by encouraging innovative approaches to disaster relief and grassroots initiatives that make a positive impact.  Please note that Sara is a BWB volunteer and does not represent the entire BWB chapter or program.  The BWB website is intended to be the mouthpiece for this community’s efforts as well as a catalyst for inspiring new ideas.

Massive! Epic! Shout out to my brother from another Unicorn, Dylan Hogan, aka Major Trouble for all that he has recently accomplished, with no plans of slowing down.
Last year Dylan, with the help of his hottie in crime, Rachael Gingery, created the Black Rock City Snow Club, who brought the 1st Ski, Sled and Snowboard hill to Burning Man. During this same time, he also dove deep into music production, producing 8+ original house bangers to fill his set with at Breakfast of Champions. Keep it up Boo! I’m proud of you! (abbreviated)
