    Welcome back to another episode of the DREAM B.I.G Podcast, Season 3! In this bittersweet end to this season, we welcome back some L2C alumni to talk about their careers, some advice that they would give to the younger generation, and about what service means to them. Our L2C alumni are Gabrielle Redcross, Joshua McDuffie, Miles Walker, and Marc Walker. Gabrielle Redcross is a 2015 alumni who is a 2019 graduate from Bridgewater College where she received her bachelors in Communications and Digital Art. She then went on to earn her masters in Digital Media Strategy in 2020, and she currently works as a Community Engagement Coordinator for First Step: A Response to Domestic Violence. Our next guest, Joshua McDuffie, is a 2016 alumni who is also a PhD student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Vanderbilt University. He is a proud 2020 graduate of North Carolina A & T, where he earned his bachelors in Civil Engineering. Thirdly, Miles Walker is a 2016 alumni who works as a professional touring DJ for artists such as Rico Nasty. He graduated from Clark Atlanta University in 2021 with a bachelor of Business Administration. Lastly, we have Marc Walker who is a 2015 alumni. He graduated from Benedict College in 2019 with a bachelors in Child and Family Development. He currently works as a therapeutic mentor, counselor, and therapeutic trainer. We are so honored to bring back our L2C alumni to highlight that no matter how different our lives can turn out, we all value service and the things that we can do for others.

    Welcome back to another episode of the DREAM B.I.G Podcast, Season 3! In today’s episode, we welcome Hyacinth Tucker(mother of podcast team member and rising 11th grader Jasmine Tucker) and Shalom Omo-Osagie who will explain their paths to becoming entrepreneurs and the steps young people can take to start their own entrepreneurial paths. Mrs. Tucker owns The Laundry Basket LLC, a mobile laundry and dry cleaning solution service company that serves the DC metropolitan area. Mrs. Tucker is a proud graduate of Towson University, where she received her bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in English. She later earned her Master in Business Administration(MBA) in Nonprofit Management with a concentration in Grant Writing. Our next guest is Shalom-Omo-Osagie who has a passion for the performing arts. She is the founder of 1939 Studios, a movie production company based in Maryland whose mission is to create opportunities for Black artists and authentically show the Black experience in today’s society. Ms. Omo-Osagie is a proud graduate of Bowie State University, where she received her Bachelor of Arts(BA) in Theater. We are so grateful to our guests who have dedicated their time to talk to us about the importance of teamwork, leadership and so much more to build a business to impact the greater community!

    Welcome back to another episode of The DREAM B.I.G Podcast. It has been a while since an episode was last posted, but we have a few more coming your way! In this episode, we welcome Ms. Tamya Anderson & Dr. Katya Salmi as our guests, who will guide us in discussing the topic of Critical Race Theory.

    Tamya is a graduate of the University of MD College Park. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology & Criminal Justice with a minor certificate in Black Women’s Studies; starting this fall, Tamya will be starting at Howard University, pursuing a law degree, with the goal of working with domestic violence victims involved in the justice system.

    Dr. Katya Salmi is the Associate Professor of Sociology at Montgomery College Rockville Campus. Dr. Salmi received her Bachelor’s degree in History and Anthropology from the University of Toronto, her Master’s degree in Human Rights from the University of College London, and finally, her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Sussex. Her areas of research interest are human rights, race, gender & equity. We are so excited to have both of them join us in our conversation about critical race theory.

Welcome back to another episode of the DREAM B.I.G podcast.  In today's episode, we welcome our guest, Dr. Jamie Keaton Jones.  Dr. Jones is a professor in the online Masters of Social Work program at Fordham University and West Virginia University. Her background is in mental health treatment, social work, and environmental justice, among others. She previously taught at Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, within the Sociology and Social Work Department. While there, she taught the first Environmental Justice and Social Work course. She also worked with a variety of mental health practices, including starting her own practice in Manhattan before moving to Washington, DC.

    We are so honored to have her as our guest. In this episode, we discuss various topics centered on environmental issues such as the impacts of consumerism, fast fashion and more! This is one of our longer episodes, but there are so many gems in this; you do not want to miss this!!
