Today’s guest, Dr. Ryan Mire, incoming president of the American College of Physicians (ACP), discusses mentorship, his upcoming leadership role with ACP, and his vision for medicine in the years to come. 

Daniel Dawes, health policy expert and Director of The Satcher Health Leadership institute, joins Lean In to discuss his book, The Political Determinants of Health and how health disparities can be traced back to the policies that shaped them.  

Dr. Jewel Kling, internal medicine physician specializing in womens’ health and LGBTQ+ health, joins Lean In to discuss the health barriers and disparities that LGBTQ+ face, and what healthcare workers can do to better support this community.

Michael Nsien, head coach of Tulsa’s professional soccer team, FC Tulsa, joins Lean in to talk about his collegiate and professional soccer career and his coaching career. Having grown up in the Greenwood community in Tulsa, coaching the team who’s stadium sits in Greenwood is even more special. He also spends some time discussing the lack of African American coaches in professional soccer, and how his success is helping to change that.

Author Richard Rothstein joins Lean In to discuss his book, The Color of Law, and how the racial segregation we see in all American cities today, is the direct result of local, state and federal government laws and policies.
