Joyce Edwards is set to join South Carolina's women's basketball program in just a couple of months, and will only add to the firepower that Dawn Staley and the Gamecocks possess. However, one aspect of her development that will go unnoticed is the multi-sport background Edwards has and how that will lessen the learning curve for her once she gets to campus.

Dawn Staley said on a radio appearance on 107.5 The Game earlier this week that South Carolina women's basketball guard MiLaysia Fulwiley is coming into the offseason with the mentality to push for a starting spot. While that might sound an extremely generic storyline on the face of it, this newfound mentality from Fulwiley could have a positive reach on her teammates at the guard positions and the rest of the Gamecocks as a whole.

Dawn Staley said in a recent radio appearance on 107.5 The Game that South Carolina's women's basketball team will be playing their season opener this November in Las Vegas, Nevada. The issue, however, is that they currently don't have an opponent as the original opponent backed out for publicly unknown reasons.

This past weekend, the USC Trojans landed two of the best portal prospects in women's basketball for this offseason cycle: Stanford's Kiki Iriafen and Oregon State's Talia Von Oelhoffen, the former of whom was expect to visit Dawn Staley and South Carolina's women's basketball program this week. With these two decisions being made, some members of the WBB sphere are legitimately posing the question of whether or not the Trojans, led by Juju Watkins, are now better than the Gamecocks, in spite of Carolina's undefeated national title run last season.

You might be thinking that there's no way that Dawn Staley and South Carolina's women's basketball program could actually get better this offseason coming off the heels of a 38-0 undefeated national championship run. However, rumblings came out on Thursday afternoon that Stanford transfer Kiki Iriafen, who's widely considered the best portal prospect out there, is slated to visit Columbia this next week.
