Locked On Red Sox POSTCAST- 5th Inning Dooms Pivetta & Red Sox
The Red Sox dropped the series opener, 9-2, to the San Diego Pades Friday night at Fenway Park. Nick Pivetta was cruising through the first four innings against the Padres and then he ran into all kinds of trouble in the 5th inning against Pivetta and reliever Greg Weissert. The first 5 hitters reached base against Pivetta before he was removed from the game. Weissert entered and gave up a 2-R single to Jake Cronenworth and then a 3-R Home Run to Jackson Merrill.

Brayan Bello worked 2 scoreless innings to open and then it all fell a part with him allowing 7 earned runs and not making it out of the 3rd inning Tuesday night in what turned into a 9-4 loss to the Blue Jays. Series is even at 1-1. Jaren Duran went 0-for-5 with 2 strikeouts and his career-high, 15-game hit streak came to an end. Rafael Devers and Tyler O'Neil both hit home runs in the loss.
