Emily shares how her experiences growing up in a loving family in the Midwest, attending West Point and finding support as an LGBGTQ+ cadet in the midst of the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy; and subsequently serving as a U.S. Army Officer on the battlefield of Afghanistan impacted the trajectory of her life.
