HEY WITCH HEY! We are so excited to debut yet another Song-i-Sode for ya! This next installation of our SONG-i-SODE series is Session #8!
Today we are talking about another one of our Practical Magic inspired original songs called "Blood Oath"! This song comes off the heels of our 2 part Blood Oaths & Magick series where we explored the sisterly bond between Gillian & Sally.
Join us as we travel back to February 2022 to the song that started it all, and Kristina surprises Justina with a previous version of the song inspired by her teenage years.
The Stinas revisit their notes & lyrics and chat about how they wrote this tearjerker! We'll be dissecting our original work verse by verse, draft by draft, and take you on the creative journey of how we wrote the song from start to finish. We'll also explore original versions of the song, scratch demos, and lyrics that just didn't make the cut. Then sit back and relax as Justina treats us to a small live performance!

"My Blood... Your Blood, Our Blood..."
In Part 1 of this 2 part series about Blood Oaths & Magick, we will be exploring one of the most prominent and memorable scenes in the Practical Magic film: Sally & Gillian's blood oath. It is clear that the sisters have a connection that transcends time & space as Gillian makes a promise that Sally in turn uses to save Gillian's life.
In today's episode, we'll acknowledge the absence of the sisters' blood oath in the books, however we pick out a "dark" characteristic that distinguishes it from the blood in the film, which author Alice Hoffman did not include until much later on in the series.
Join us as we analyze the appearance of blood magick in the books, explore TV tropes and cultural practices, and take a trip down memory lane as the Stinas recount their own comical personal experiences!

In today's episode, we continue with the spring themes and FINALLY tackle all of the rain symbolism throughout the books and the movie. From Jet's green "Daffodil" rain to Tom Lockland's "Red Rain" of death, the Stinas splash through puddles of new theories as they revisit Jimmy's stormy burial scene in the film.
The Stinas then explore news articles for real life accounts of raining animals as well as colored rain that seems nothing short of biblical! So join us as we cover history, science, magick, dreams, lore and more... of RAIN!

Ep. 73: March & The Spring Equinox
Step into the enchanting world of Practical Magic as we unravel the significance of the month of March within the book series and the iconic movie adaptation.
In this episode, we explore that infamously inaccurate date from the movie that has us scratching our heads, the date of Sally's testimony: March 8, 1998. How could that have possibly taken place after the summer solstice? The Stinas piece together a timeline and wonder what the writers of the film could have possibly been thinking.
We'll also chat about the birth & death days of some of our beloved book characters and ponder why author Alice Hoffman deems March 21 "The Unluckiest Day of the Year".
