For those who want to hear it straight from David Feng... views, notes, and the occasional bit of trivia about all rail, metro, tram, and light rail (and others!) stations he's visited. Think of it as a notebook, except the microphone replaces the pen...

    Spoken Notebook Page 3 - 01 December 2019

A rather sleepy but experience-rich David Feng — at wit's end after just a few hours' shut-eye — dangles a microphone in his left hand with the right supporting his now-rather-heavy head. But there's a few bit of rail tips before he makes the final doze-off... for the moment...

E-tickets have arrived on a few High Speed routes (especially in Eastern China) but the system is far from perfect for the uninitiated expat — for one reason, your blue ticket now is a reimbursement document only and you can't find your seat number on it!

Otherwise, a look at a very-well-futureproofed-in-the-future Beijing Daxing Railway Station, as well as a Binzhou station that's incredibly white... certainly in colour schemes...

Let's hope David doesn't miss his train connections later in the day!...

    Spoken Notebook Page 2 - 28 November 2019

A super-early-in-the-morning-or-very-late-at-night mic session jotting down and going notes about things you may not have known about Stations 4-8: Beijing (Main), Beijing South, Daxing Airport, Beijing West, and Tianjin South, all stations in Northern China...

Did you know the tacky, infomercial-arts-ish "8 Gates" part of Beijing Railway Station was probably amongst the first-ever such elevated concourse in all of Mainland China? Or that there used to be signs to a Gate 25 at Beijing South? How about the sleek new Daxing Airport station with professional staff and advanced technology? The Euston of Beijing, but always slightly more improved, a la Beijing West station? And the mini city forest by the east exit of Tianjin South HSR + Metro station, which those in a hurry almost always miss out on?...

There's plenty more stations to come, very soon!

    Spoken Notebook Page 1 - 22 November 2019

David launches Next Station: Eurasia as part of a "bigger and better" improvement over Next Station: China and breaks free from "just" railway stations in China to "any-rail" (national rail, metro, tram, light rail etc) stations across Eurasia.

He also briefs listeners about how he sees the first three stations he's visited — Harbin, Shangzhi South, and Acheng North, all in the northeastern Chinese province of Heilongjiang...
