On Monday, February 21st 2022 the Canadian Parliament voted to approve Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s invocation of the “Emergencies Act” giving him more power than any Prime Minister since World War 2. These powers are over-reaching and allow for Canadian citizen’s civil liberties to be suspended at the whim of the Prime Minister. These powers include but are not limited to: Freezing bank accounts & crypto wallets, revoking car insurance, arrest & detaining protesting citizens and/or citizens caught nearby protest areas. These powers will also give Trudeau the power to squash any dissent around the country he deems to be a threat & could use this opportunity to push laws & restrictions that will outlast the supposed Mid-March end date of the Emergencies Act.

Whether what I say in this podcast is true or not, the reality of the situation in Canada needs to be examined by every Canadian to ask if this is the Canada they truly want to live in. Only then can we all decide how to proceed.  So do your own research, look inside your heart (as woo woo as that sounds), watch or listen to this podcast, and ask yourself these question “What do you want the future of Canada to look like?”

I couldn’t finish and leave this book behind without saying some words about it. In short, without question, “22 on Peleliu” is one of my favourite books by an American Marine who served and fought in the Pacific in WW2. “Helmet for my pillow” and “With the old breed” are amazing in their own right, but as the author of “22 on Peleliu” is IN FACT an Old Breed marine himself, I found his recounting and telling of not only the battles he fought in and training he received but his PRE-WAR time growing up in the 1930s America and then his POST-WAR exploits and stories to be completely captivating and exciting to listen to/read. George Peto is without a doubt one of the most experienced Marines to write about the subject and his first hand account and was one of the longest living as well. I hope you enjoy this, Part 2 of Episode 150: WW2 and the marines.

I plan to continue to podcast with a goal of 1 Podcast per Month which sounds very doable to me.  So get ready party people its about to get hot-in-herr-dis-yearrrrr!!!
