Welcome to the first episode of Using the Erotic, a podcast dedicated to creating an intellectual space centralized around Black Womanhood. The purpose of this episode is to set some ground rules and establish some definitions before we get into topic-based conversations.
The Community includes black women (cis and trans), black nonbinary people, and black trans men. Why? The birth of the term "black woman" erased the identities of the people who this label was forced upon. People labeled as black women might not have had the ability to insist on their own identities as we can today. If given the space, they might have also identified as black trans* men or nonbinary.

Expectations:
The podcast holds the position that until all black women are free, no one is free. This is the starting point.
