Ordained as a rabbi at Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion, the Reform Seminary, he holds a Ph.D. in religion from the University of Toronto, and a Masters in Philosophy in Gandhian Thought from Notre Dame. A frequent lecturer on Judaism, ethics, and bioethics, his books include: Eating Ethically: Religion and Science, and Judaism, Race, and Ethics: Conversations and Questions.
