Gender based violence has been prevailing in our society for years on end with victims being silenced for different reasons such as shame, victim blaming, stigma and worse of, not knowing what to do or where to start after any violent episode. We are grateful for insitiutions such as the Mirabel center which is a Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) to provide holistic and high quality medical and psychosocial services to survivors of sexual assault and rape and other gender based violent encounters.
