    Peracetic Acid (PAA)

    Peracetic Acid (PAA)

In this episode of Tech Talk we discuss Peracetic Acid (PAA). Phil Harvey, Vice President of Operations and Jane Smith, Director of Marketing join us from Enviro Tech and impart a great deal of knowledge regarding Peracetic Acid. A few of the questions that were discussed in this episode were:
    What is PAA?
    How does PAA disinfection work?
What are some applications of PAA?
What is the shelf life of PAA?
Is PAA available in various concentrations?
What are the typical concentrations used in the marketplace?
Do PAA products have an odor?
Is PAA affected by UV or heat?
    How is PAA delivered?
What materials are incompatible with PAA?
What materials (tanks, anti-oxidant systems, fittings, gaskets, vents, scrubbers) are compatible with PAA?
    And more!

The Latest Advances in Removing PFAS from Water

The Latest Advances in Removing PFAS from Water

In this episode of Tech Talk , Katie Wolohan with Barr Engineering joins Marshall Lampson and Bob Molitsky to discuss PFAS. Here are a few of the questions that were discussed:
    • What are PFAS?• What are the main sources of exposure to PFAS?• How does PFAS get into drinking water?• What is EPA doing about groundwater cleanup• Are PFAS a national issue?• What makes PFAS unique and challenging to treat?• Common ways to treat PFAS contaminated water?• How are chemical storage tanks used in treatment systems?• Who can I contract with to design a PFAS removal system?
About Katie:  Katie Wolohan has more than seven years of environmental consulting experience and assists clients with industrial and municipal water and wastewater treatment, water reuse, and environmental compliance and permitting. She works with clients to navigate water and wastewater treatment challenges and options from conceptual design and bench and pilot testing through full-scale system start-up. Katie has assisted with the evaluation, design, and implementation of several water treatment systems, including a specialized acid-recovery ion-exchange system, an advanced oxidation process system for the removal of 1,4-dioxane from drinking water, and multiple per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS) treatment systems.

    Seismic Systems

    Seismic Systems

In this episode of Tech Talk we answer some of the often asked questions regarding PPC seismic systems. Some of the discussion includes:
What is a seismic restraint system
How do I evaluate the earthquake risk of my tank
Are wind restraints separate from earthquake restraints
What comes with a restraint system
What is the correct spacing between clip and tank (1”)What is the typical coating of the restraint system …options
Does PPC provide anchor bolts in a variety of materials
Why do we need the complete physical address to determine what system to use for the restraint
Does PPC use a 3rd party engineer to perform calculations
What code is the seismic system from
What determines a customer’s need or requirement to have a seismic restraint system?  Who dictates that? Is it the county or the state, etc…
What is the difference between wet stamped calcs and non wet stamped calcs
When does the code change next
