Since at least mid-2019, internet sleuths, called Haylor Murder Truthers, believe songs released by Taylor Swift and Harry Styles secretly communicate the pair's unintentional vehicular homicide of a homeless man. The theory came to Michelle's attention since TSwift released her second album of 2020 "Evermore" with the song "No Body, No Crime" featuring HAIM is a true crime banger.

Leslie was inspired by the loss of a very old apple tree in Vancouver, Wash., after hearing a story on NPR. The centuries-old tree led to a discussion of apple trees and the breadth of the family Rosaceae, which covers the entire globe and includes everything from apples and blackberries to roses and hawthorns. In the parking lot this week, Leslie and Michelle discuss how being in JROTC doesn't make students conservative, rather into two flaming liberals.
