Data is the new currency. It is 21st-century' oil'. Those who have control over data can rule the world. Tech Giants work on this principle. They provide personalized content based on your choices, past behavior, and likes. While some of it is essential for better services, many a time this data - about your likes/dislikes, habits, personal info - can be used against you. 



Such data can be easily misused to manipulate your behavior. Say, in the 2016 US Presidential Elections, data from Facebook helped Trump to manipulate the behavior of millions of Americans on Facebook by targeting campaigning, as alleged in Cambridge Analytica Case. 



This shows that our personal data is monetized and can be sold in the market for unfair uses.
