The Houstons of Hillsong have written and promoted many holy texts over the 40+ years they've been in business. Some of them are still promoted, or quoted, and others have become rarer and rarer as time goes on.A group of us felt it was important for people to be able to access these books and for these gospels to be read aloud for research and history purposes. We are the community of those involved in The Australian Assemblies of God movement, Hillsong, C3, ACC, et al and/or those affected by such religions. These are our cultural texts, written by the Houston men and women of Christian Life Centres and Hillsong who say they hear directly from their Christian God. We are a culture now that so many years have passed. Some of these texts are too rare to access, some too expensive, and some forbidden by the author. But they are OUR texts, and they were sold to us once as being urgent to read and absorb. To disregard them as no longer meaningful would cast infinite doubt on the current texts being touted as the new bestseller.Reading Hillsong is an audible presentation of literary works of the Pastors Houston with the words they wanted others to imbibe not that long ago. Each chapter has its own reader to ensure diversity and prevent the bias of a single narrator. Each reader is from our culturally Pentecostal community and is brought to you from the heart.Leaving Hillsong is delighted to present to you for your education, history, and listening pleasure:Reading Hillsong

What the Bible Says About Prosperity

What the Bible Says About Prosperity

"Why would God give you the ability to get wealth, if he didn't want you to HAVE ALL THAT MONEY?"
THIS fantastic logic continues on through Chapter 6, but wasn't applied to any other illegal, immoral, or fattening behaviours.
However, when it comes to money, the message is clear: POOR people CAN'T help ANYONE.
RICH people are THE BEST because they CAN HELP everyone. all over the world. ALL THAT MONEY.
Just like the Bible says to...

    Making the Right Choices

    Making the Right Choices

We read Deuteronomy to get scared about money.
    We make jokes about McDonald's.
We discuss how you shouldn't have debts you can't pay.
Just rent buildings for $1 a year. Brian was able to pay the rent 'all by myself'!
Get yourself a miracle. Don't pay your Mastercard with your Visa and then your Visa with your Amex.
    Lots of other good advice.

The Waster, The Hoarder, and the User

The Waster, The Hoarder, and the User

The prodigal son was not the problem in the Parable of the Prodigal Son.
It was the son who stayed behind and complained and didn't want to splash out.
Sort of like people who have depression. Somehow.

    The Love of Money

    The Love of Money

Brian finds himself in L.A., NOT loving money and sees Jack Nicholson give money to a beggar even though NO ONE else is around. This has a profound effect
BCH recalls selling his car to a congregant (probably at a great tax-free, cash profit, then leased a new one) and randomly the buyer finds the car all keyed up and we wonder if it's another Hazel Houston car story mystery.
References to tax dodging and millionaires and the irony is unbearable.
A short list of things MORE important than all that hot, hot money, cash, moolah yumyumbubblegum payola is at the end! something about family lol

    Myths and Misconceptions

    Myths and Misconceptions

money is good. it's great. money is the best.
some people say that whole camel/eye of needle thing is a big deal. it's not.
there's more verses in the bible that if you say with more emphasis and different pauses make it sound like God insists you run after the cash in your life.
Gaslight gaslight, you make god happy when you prosper.
    Go for the gold!

    Dealing with a Poverty Mentality

    Dealing with a Poverty Mentality

Poor people are gross. They are losers who aren't going anywhere. You don't want to be like them.
There's a bible verse that if you look at it sideways in the dark supports this idea.
    Rich people are the best.
