Why I Don't Hate My Ex (The Co-Parenting Edition)

Why I Don't Hate My Ex (The Co-Parenting Edition)

Special Guest: Matthew Wish, Richmond Hill, GA
I met Matthew in a college course right after my marriage fell apart. We were paired as debate partners and right off the bat, I found him to be annoying and just way too much. But he grew on me and we became friends over the course of the semester. I would have never guessed we'd end up in a romantic relationship years later and I really would've never imagined having a surprise baby with this guy!
We are pretty much opposites in every way, which led to our disastrous romance. But our differences only strengthened us as a family unit. Little Hattie is the best parts of both of us and very unique in her own right. On this episode, Matt and I share a glimpse of our story of how we formed our unique family unit, how we maintain it, what challenges we had coming together as co-parents and our hopes for our little Hattie.
We are not perfect by a long shot, but what drives our family and the way we co-parent is our insane love for our daughter. We want to give her every opportunity to rise and be herself without any adult baggage placed on her. So we try our best to create a family where she is able to just be Hattie, the coolest, most beautiful free spirit.

Reason Why My Daughters Are Smarter Than Me

    Guest: Shailoh Eggerson, Omaha, NE

    Guest: Angel Byrd, Dallas, TX

    Guest: Rayven Christian, Charlotte, NC

They are in between Millennials and GenZ. My daughter, Shailoh, and my goddaughters Angel and Rayven are coming into adulthood at a time when we are in the middle of a global pandemic, systemic racism and sexism is on full display and these courageous young women are defining and redefining their lives and giving us oldies a lesson in evolution, grace and friendship.

In this episode, we talk about college life and what happens after, whether or not college is the next step after high school, career goals, entrepreneurship, adulting, DMs and so much more. This one was so much fun to record. I love talking to my girls. I always learn so much and get inspired every time. I hope you will be inspired, too!

    Why Fathers Matter

    Why Fathers Matter

One of the longest and enduring relationships in my life is the one I share with my father. He is the first man I ever loved and the basis on which I learned to relate to other men in my life. I felt it was important and timely to sit with my father to learn more about his evolution as a man, husband, and father. This conversation was healing, transparent and open. I hope it will encourage you to open dialogue with those you love. Ronnie J. Eggerson is a preacher and pastor based in Omaha, Neb. where he has planted a church, Freedom Christian Fellowship Church with his wife, Debra. You can learn more about him and the church by visiting their Facebook page @FreedomCFC.
