#53: Let's Talk About Sicily in the Movies!

Welcome to Episode 53 of Reel Travels! I’m your host Lisa Iannucci, the author of the travel books On Location: A Film & TV Lover’s Travel Guide and Road Trip: A Sport’s Lover’s Travel Guide. I’m hoping this podcast inspires you to travel to destinations that have been used in your favorite movies and television shows.

I have to say that this interview was actually done in January, so you’ll hear me mention that. But nothing else is really time-sensitive and I think you’ll thoroughly enjoy this. It’s all about Italy! And if you’ve been listening you know that I haven’t been there yet, but it’s on my list of places to go. So I turned to the one person I know who knows Italy, but who specializes in Sicily -- Karen La Rosa, the owner of La RosaWorks Sicily Tours and Travel. We talk about everything about Italy travel and movies in Sicily, including The Godfather (and Godfather Tours) and Cinema Paradiso's filming locations. This interview has only piqued my interest in traveling to Italy.

In 2014, she formed her own production company Her Little Red Productions, Llc,. a female-run production company focusing on female-driven projects.

And, of course, she is currently in Karate Kid’s Cobra Kai as Lynn, otherwise known as the homeless woman and we are going to talk about all of this and more!
