#69 Signing off, challenges faced & what is involved to get an episode published

This week I'm signing off, last episode. It's been a wild ride, a ton of amazing guests and countless topics discussed. Will this be the last ever relatable chapters episode... unsure. We will see. But this episode here is to seal the deal for now, answer some questions and share some stories. I also go over what is involved in the production of the podcast and challenges I've faced along the way.

A huge thank you to all the guest, all the listeners and those who have interacted with me along the way. Cheers, Mase.

#68 Amber Carlson: Incurable brain cancer, suicidal ideation & prolonging life

A cancer battle isn't always chemo followed by death or survival, sometimes you can continue your life but just know that your life is statistically shortened. For Amber, this is the case. She has a grade 3 brain cancer which is the aggressive, incurable type. In this conversation we flow through the points of:

Parents split at 14 years of age
Trial and error to find her passion in ECE
The C word - being diagnosed
    Road to prolong life, and
    Depression

This is one hell of a journey depicted quite well by Amber as she takes us back through some of her most pivotal moments. Hopefully sharing this story can shed some more light around these 'taboo' topics and how to navigate around them better than we currently are. Cheers Amber for your time, this was a massive privilege!
You can go check out her blog as mentioned in the ep and also her insta account. Don't forget to rate the poddy and to be grateful for the small things in life, enjoy.

#66 Chas Clark: Define success? The pursuit of happiness, "In Club" & building a community

#66 Chas Clark: Define success? The pursuit of happiness, "In Club" & building a community

Now this guy is fire! Go go go from one thing to the next, definitely a do’er and not a dreamer. In my eyes, Chas has had a very successful career in the fitness industry but in reality, success is defined by the eye of the beholder. To my surprise, if Chas were to suddenly die tomorrow, he said he wouldn’t be satisfied with his life’s journey to date. You’ll have to hear him out on this one though. His key turning points are:

    Studying sports science
Moving to Australia to pursue his career
Moving home from Australia to open a crossfit gym
    Selling the gym
Studying graphic design / entire career change, and finally,
    his latest venture, “in club”

We talk about his continual thirst for knowledge, his driving force and also some toxic traits that have been following him around for some time. Another epic journey worthy of sharing with your mates.
Lastly, go check out In club and lets watch this baby grow!

#64 Ray Everest: Driven by the wrong fuel, leadership, therapy, partnership & feeling limitless

#64 Ray Everest: Driven by the wrong fuel, leadership, therapy, partnership & feeling limitless

This has got to be one of the most influential episodes to date, consisting of a lot of raw emotion, fiery motivation and a
strong sense of purpose. Ray runs 5 early childcare centres here in Papamoa, Future Focus, with his partner.

We cover key phases of Rays life starting with becoming a father at 16yr old, moving to St Pauls Collegiate and heading to university. The following phase was becoming NZ's youngest principle at the time and realising he hated it. The fuel to his fire had run out. With change on the card, he moved to the Middle East but the key aspect in this phase was meeting Courtney, his lovely wife. This flows into becoming a dad again, suffering from anxiety and going to therapy for that and also his childhood trauma.

We touch on his current role as a leader, what it means to be a great leader, the exciting opportunities they've worked hard to receive and his massive ambitious appetite.

This was an epic yarn, please share it around as there are many take aways. Thank you so much Ray!
