    Living By A Code

    Living By A Code

What is a Code? Why is it important for us to live by a code? The examples of the Rechabites in Jeremiah 35 and the Japanese Samurai show us the importance of living by a code. The killing of Kitty Genovese in 1964 and the Miracle of the Hudson pulled off by Capt Sully in 2009 show us the ills of not living by a code and the benefits of living by one respectively. The success of our relationships depend largely on our decision to live by a code. The best code I can think of is THE DIVINE CODE! The Divine Code states that we live a life of love. Not just any type of love but a sacrificial love that originates from the Divine and helps us to live in harmony, in peace, in joy. The Benefits of living by a code are many. Chief among them is that it helps us to overcome the deadly problem of cognitive dissonance. It also attracts the right people to you and helps you to cultivate the right kind of relationship. Black Lives Matter, All Lives Matter. The Problem of Rape and other evils in our society will be tackled if we help children to have a moral identity from childhood. You cannot instil a moral identity in children if you do not have one. Anyone who speaks honestly will tell you that when we live without a code or violate the code we live by, it causes pain. There is no reason for us to make life more difficult for ourselves by living without a code. So, what code are you going to live by? What are you going to do moving forward? Do you really want to build better relationships? Do you want to be part of the solution or compound the problem? The choice is yours! I'm Daniel Ogunjimi.
