Prior to attending medical school at Touro University, Dr. Candice Weaver earned a Masters Degree in Public Health from Dartmouth Medical School, an undergraduate degree in Health Policy at UC Berkeley, and completed premedical studies and cancer research at The Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Weaver became Board Certified in Family Medicine after training at UCSF's program at Natividad Medical Center. She was a founding member of the Global Physicians Corps, a nonprofit organization that sends physicians on medical missions to Africa. She has worked with GPS to help deliver babies and conduct research on maternal mortality rates in rural Tanzania. Dr. Weaver was selected as a National Health Service Corps Scholar and worked in East Palo Alto providing full-scope medical care to the underserved, before accepting a position at Kaiser Permanente, where she currently practices. She is the author of Nia's Puzzle, a children's book about resilience and the "big picture" perspective. Nia's Puzzle was Amazon's number one new release and number one best-selling Children's Values book in August 2019. Dr. Weaver enjoys writing, playing the piano, baking, and traveling with her family in her spare time.
