RetasoCast Ep 62 | Crowds, Art Books, Feedback
We had a very fun and hectic time at Cebu ABF last weekend. Aside from it being the launch of our zines, Tiny's chap book, and a lot of merch it was also our first time recording a podcast in the middle of a very crowded event. Felt like we were attending a 1 year old's birthday in Shakey's, sans The Dawn karaoke - claustrophobic, bewildering, and oddly entertaining.
We sat with old friends and new for a cultural temperature check, and roamed around the event to scrutinize people's event loot. There's also a deepdive into the differences between zines and art books, and what it takes to make them.
Thanks to the CABF team for inviting us, and to everyone who went by our booth! And apologies for the audio assault!

RetasoCast Ep 61 | AGAIN?!?
Election results that make you wish the multiverse existed? A re-education secretary focusing on indoctrination? Merely hoping that the apple falls far enough from the tree so it's at least not as bad? It looks like the beginnings of the new dark golden age of Philippine history. Or is it?

RetasoCast Ep 59 | Paweekend feat. Bin, Bugz & Matthan
How far would you go for turtles? Would you die for them? These were questions we inadvertently answered during our Dumaguete/Apo Island weekend trip. We savored the many flavors that Dumaguete had to offer, made friends with the locals, pondered our mortality through memorabilia, and braved the stormy sea to swim with these gentle green giants.
And maybe the real endangered species were the Japanese remains we found along the way. -
