Difficult times filled with frustration does not begin to describe the many issues the board has had to address over the past year plus, but now the selection of a new school superintendent has finally been completed. She tells me what the path forward now looks like for our students as well as other priorities. Brian Harris is a man who is invested in our young people and is the man chosen to now lead the Memphis Office of Youth Services. He shares a busy agenda as they prepare for the summer with EMPLOY youth and many other programs. Finally, mental health is a serious problem for many in our city and recently, the Mental Health Cooperative (MHP), has recently opened a new facility here in Memphis.
