Self care in 2024 Love and Happiness

    • Entreprenörskap

I have planned a "Wellness and Self-Care" series that offers insights into maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including fitness routines, mental health practices, and self-care tips.

At the beginning of the year, I was recovering from some traumatic events that happened in 2023. I took my time and allowed January to be a month of mental release before diving into my goal setting.

I started working out more consistently, going for 2-4 walks per week, each lasting 30-60 minutes. I also started logging my water intake with a water app. Additionally, I began cooking three meals a day, including Eggs, Salmon, and rice weekly.

I have always been a huge advocate of self-care and wellness, but this year, I wanted to be more intentional about my time spent with loved ones, personal growth, and professional development. I started learning more about technology, focusing on devices and computers, with the guidance of my husband, who is a software engineer. I also set a reading goal, which helps me focus and reduce stress.

Monthly, I still get my nails and toes done, and I have a standing appointment with Laurie, my massage therapist at Now Massage. I invested in a standing desk, chair, and foot comfort mattress.

My sleep routine is as follows:

During the workweek, after I finish work at 6 pm, I place my phone in silent mode for 15 minutes so I can speak to Paul and get dressed for the gym. At around 6:15, my timer goes off, reminding me to go to the gym. I grab my water bottle, headset, and cleaning supplies (I use my own wipes and hand sanitizer). At around 7:15, I come home, eat a protein bar, and take a shower. We then watch an episode of our favorite show before I prepare our room for sleep. I turn on our levoit humidifier, dim the lights for Charlie, and organize our pillows and covers. I have been using the Manta sleep mask and set my phone to my sleep schedule and stretch. We are normally settled into bed around 9.

During the weekends, we tend to have weekly dates to the movies and dinner. We are usually back home by 9 pm and then shower. We are in bed around 10 pm.
