Jesus told His disciples in John 4 that his food was the Will of the Father and to finish His work.  In Exodus 16, the Israelites were complaining to Moses because they were going to run out of food in the wilderness.  Today, are we living with a focus on the temporal or the natural?  Am I consumed with my own desires to be filled by me?  As followers of Jesus Christ we are expected to live with eyes focused on the eternal, eyes focused on our sustainer, Jesus Christ.  We have to be aware of what is driving us or motivating us in all things.



And Jesus answered, “O faithless and twisted generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him here to me.” And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him, and the boy was healed instantly. Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:17-20 (ESV)

In the wilderness God, through the work of His Holy Spirit, is bringing us into alignment with His Will and at the same time revealing Himself in such a way that we 'see' our identity IN Him. During episode 7 Jodi delves into the connection of the soul to our true identity and how God has designed for us to see ourselves through His eyes. God shifts His instructions to the Israelites in Exodus 16:22-30 that not only tested their obedience but provided the opportunity for them to be set aside to rest with God. Jodi shares that rest is not only designed for our physical bodies, but for our souls as well. She explains that our rest in Jesus IS holy because He is holy. Jodi challenges us all to consider the the fact that God is ‘in it’ with us ALL the time, every day. In Exodus 16:13-21 God invites the Israelites to recognize Him as their Provider and the One in whom they can depend.  Dependence doesn't mean laziness, as children of God the expectation is and His desire is that we would cooperate with Him.  Jodi moves through each verse of this passage sharing along the way how God worked in her own life in a similar way revealing to her how she has a tendency to control, do things her way, and every time she will become burdened.  Other scriptural passages referenced in this episode include Matthew 6:25-34, Exodus 16:31 and 1 Corinthians 4:7.
