SGJ Podcast #312 – Galaxy in Turmoil

    It’s Very Pretty…

Hello friends, and welcome to this week’s podcast! This week, Jim, Spaz, Hunter and I sit down with Tony Romanelli and Richard Ebanks, CEO and COO respectfully, and co-founders of Frontwire Studios to talk about their Battlefront homage, Galaxy in Turmoil. Hot on the heels of a sadly unsuccessful Kickstarter campaign, we dive into the game’s fascinating history, it’s Steam-related follies and much more. It’s a brutally honest look at the game’s development, which made for a fascinating show.

Next week on the show, we’ll welcome back the developer of the free Master of Orion 1-like, Remnants of the Precursors! As always, if you have any questions or comments, please drop them in the comments below, email us at hail@spacegamejunkie.com or hit us up on the forums.

SGJ Podcast #311 – Rules of Engagement Windows Port

    A Thing of Beauty…

Welcome to this week’s podcast, my friends! This week, Jim, Spaz, Hunter and I sit down with Joshua “Halkun” Walker, who worked on the Windows port for the amazing 1991 starship tactical combat game, Rules of Engagement! We discuss getting the rights to the game, the trials of working with thirty-year-old code, learning how to port said code to Windows and much more. It was really fun and detailed. We also went on some wacky tangents, which resulted in what might be our longest podcast episode yet.

Next week we’ll talk to the folks behind the space and ground combat game, Galaxy in Turmoil! As always, if you have any questions or comments, please drop them in the comments below, email us at hail@spacegamejunkie.com or hit us up on the forums. Thank you, as always, for listening, and enjoy the show!

    SGJ Podcast #310 – XO

    SGJ Podcast #310 – XO

Hey friends, welcome back to the Space Game Junkie Podcast as well as a new decade! Yay! This week, Jim, Spaz, Hunter and I sit down with Brian Jamison, Creative Director at Jumpdrive Studios, to talk about his currently-in-early-access spaceship, crew, fleet and resource management game, XO. This is a fascinating game reminiscent of Battlestar Galactica, in which you assemble a ragtag fleet and are on the run from a very pernicious enemy. We not only talk a lot about the game, but game design, game visibility and also a lot of Star Wars. It was REALLY FUN.

Next week, we’ll be talking to the gentleman who ported Rules of Engagement to Windows! As always, if you have any questions or comments, please drop them in the comments below, email us at hail@spacegamejunkie.com or hit us up on the forums.

Hey friends, welcome to this week’s podcast This week, Jim, Spaz, Hunter and I talk about mobile games. While we try to focus primarily on space games — of which there are a lot, surprisingly — we also diverge into all sorts of mobile gaming, and discuss why, on the whole, we’re not big mobile gamers, despite all that’s out there.

Next week will be our final podcast of 2019, so we’ll look back on what an insane year this has been. As always, if you have any questions or comments, please drop them in the comments below, email us at hail@spacegamejunkie.com or hit us up on the forums.
