Antler Up - Get Better & Keep it Simple w/ Andy May
In this episode of the Antler Up Podcast, host Jeremy Dinsmore is joined by Andy May. This episode is the first of many where Jeremy will have guests discussing specific topics where the plan is to “Keep it Simple!” Too many times it seems that “we” as hunters overcomplicate things and make tasks more challenging than they need to be! So, tune into not only this episode but the next couple weeks with guests from all over as they break topics down by “Keeping it Simple!”
This episode is filled with valuable insights emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and personal growth in the field. Andy shares that experiences and challenges often outweigh the significance of the size of bucks harvested. Simplifying gear and equipment can lead to greater efficiency and effectiveness, and Andy provides tips such as using a multi-pin sight and hinge release to enhance shot execution and accuracy. He advocates aiming at larger targets to reduce tension and improve accuracy, as well as practicing shot selection and patience for better performance during hunts.
Andy also discusses the critical role of controlling heart rate and practicing from various angles to prepare for real hunting scenarios. He underscores the importance of realistic practice in archery and bowhunting, accurate and ethical shot placement, and proper bow alignment. Utilizing historical data and thorough scouting can significantly increase hunting success. Patience and confidence in one’s hunting strategies are crucial for efficiency, while slowing down the shot process and focusing on execution can lead to improved accuracy. Andy believes that challenging oneself both physically and mentally, while maintaining simplicity, can result in positive hunting outcomes. Tune in to gain deeper insights into Andy May’s hunting philosophies and practical tips for becoming a more effective and ethical hunter.

Every year a new batch of broadheads hit the market and for whatever reason, it excites us as we imagine how much more efficient and effective a new broadhead could be when compared to our current broadhead set up. Expandable or mechanical broadheads are especially interesting as there are new ways in which these heads deploy a variety of blades. In today's episode, Jacob shares his thoughts on his recent evaluation of 6 different expandable broadheads: Sevr 2.0, Sevr 1.75, Mega Meat, Dead Meat, Grim Reaper Whitetail Special, and Rage Hypodermic NC + P.

Pennsylvania Woodsman - Time Management, Season Goals and Expectations
On this week's episode of the Pennsylvania Woodsman we are kicking things off in a different style. While we are cruising through summer, we still have a ways off before the fall. Work, honey-do list, and summer time activities are still the bulk focus of our time. Therefore, if success in fall is to happen, it needs to be done by maximizing the little time we have to prepare and staying focused. Mitch and the guest will set a timer for 30 minutes and dive into a topic. When the timer runs out, it's back to the real world. Take the same logic with your summer preparation and be deliberate!
This week's guest is Dan Johnson, host of the Nine Finger Chronicles and leader of Sportsmen's Empire Podcast Network. Just because Dan works "in the industry," does not mean he is blessed with unlimited time to prepare each fall and kill tons of game. He has a family and a business that requires his undivided attention all year. Therefore, in order to stay sane in the hunting world, he has to be specific when setting goals and expectations. This means being realistic and achievable, and yet also finding satisfaction. Around this framework, we will discuss specifics of preparation for hunting at home and out-of-state trips with what little free time he has available.
