STOP Suicide - Interview with CPSL MIND Bridge the Gap

    • Nyhetskommentarer

STOP Suicide is a suicide awareness campaign from the mental health charity MIND, which covers Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and South Lincolnshire.

This interview covers the importance of encouraging men to speak about their mental health, as they are more likely to take their own lives, but also places the emphasis on the role communities can play in creating an environment in which anyone can speak about their mental health.

Rishal Patel, a recent graduate, offered his views on why men may struggle to speak about their mental health and how students can support one another, based on his own experience of suicidal thoughts whilst studying at university. Rob Earl, Campaigns and Communications Lead at CPSL MIND, also signposted to mental health services available to students in Cambridgeshire.

To support the campaign by signing their STOP Suicide pledge or for more information see www.stopsuicidepledge.org.

For details of CPSL MIND's mental health services, see cpslmind.org.uk, which also has a page dedicated to student support https://www.cpslmind.org.uk/university-students/.
