If you’ve ever been to an HJ runway show or purchased custom clothing by the one of a kind artist, then you’ve had a chance to witness up close, the creative genius within Hannah Jane’s multidimensional pieces. In this episode, I interview Hannah on her humble beginnings as a designer, the highs and lows that come with owning your own sustainable brand, her conscious decision to showcase diverse types of beauty within her campaigns, and what choosing the path of art & fashion has taught Hannah about herself. As March approaches, I reflect on Black History Month and the importance of not leaving the excitement of the black creative’s influence in February. I talk about how black historical events have affected our personal style across decades, my personal thoughts on the news of the Fenty fashion label halting production, the ways that black designers are disrupting the luxury market, as well as some of my current fave black designers for you to shop!
