Prayer in Times of Suffering or Weakness (BOCP)
Dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ: I hold up all my weakness to your strength, my failure to your faithfulness, my sinfulness to your perfection, my loneliness to your compassion, my little pains to your great agony on the Cross. I pray that you will cleanse me, strengthen me, guide me, so that in all ways my life may be lived as you would have it lived, without cowardice and for you alone. Show me how to live in true humility, true remorse, and true love. Amen.

Psalms 13:1-6 NLT - O LORD, how long will you forget me? Forever? How long will you look the other way? How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul, with sorrow in my heart every day? How long will my enemy have the upper hand? Turn and answer me, O LORD my God! Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die. Don’t let my enemies gloat, saying, “We have defeated him!” Don’t let them rejoice at my downfall. But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. I will sing to the LORD because he is good to me. Our meditation on pain and suffering would be completely shallow if we didn’t consider the pain and suffering of Jesus.

The irony of parenting is that you can feel alone, even though there is always another human with you. One of the greatest names for God is that of Father. He is a Father who cares for his children. When you feel alone in your parenting, turn to the Father who knows you.

Psalm 139:1–3 (NLT) — 1 O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. 2 You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. 3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do.

Anxiety is real. Share with God your anxiety and why you are feeling fear. So often our response to anxiety is to find things to distract us from it. One of the best ways to deal with anxiety is to confront it in prayer.

1 Peter 5:6–7 (NLT) — 6 So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. 7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you

Are you lost? Do you feel like life is spinning out of your control? Many reach out to us on our Prayer Walls with the feeling of hopelessness. You are not alone. Where am I going? What am I doing? Do you ever just pause in a panic because life feels out of control? Take it to the Lord in prayer. One of the greatest metaphors used in the Bible is that of God being our shepherd. In fact, Jesus calls Himself "The Good Shepherd." Run to the One who was willing to leave 99 sheep for the one.

John 10:11 (NLT) — 11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep.

Faith and belief are quite a funny thing to pin down. It is something that when it is going well, you know it. But other times we may feel we aren't growing in our faith or even knowing who God is at that moment. The connection between faith and prayer is huge. We must call upon God in our unbelief to give us the faith to see Him clearer.
