After the decision by the US Supreme Court to overturn Roe V Wade, we take some time for fury.  If you’re looking for actions and solutions, this episode is not for you as we’re honoring the grief process with a week for anger before we get back to the hard work of bandaiding American Democracy. We just want them to not scare themselves silly right before bedtime. And we’re back! Welcome to Season 3 of “That’s What We Said.” With some false stops and starts as we struggle once again with faulty internet and remembering our own names, we’re ready to catch up. A lot has happened during our hiatus, including the controversial opening of a mega gas station in our community. Some of us have begun traveling for work again, and we have some stories from airports. Boy, do we have stories. “That’s What We Said” is like spending Saturday evening on the porch with your friends, sipping a glass of wine and shooting the breeze.

It’s once again time for some Kentucky politics on the pod! This week, we’re excited to interview Mae Suramek, candidate for the 89th district Kentucky House seat. It’s just a few days until the election here in Madison County, and we’re talking to Mae about running for office, running a business, and starting a new podcast about the experience of Asian Americans in Kentucky. Mae talks to us about what it means to “do well by doing good.” We hope you’ll do good next week by voting in your local election, especially if you’re here with us in Kentucky’s 89th.
