Far too cosily inside cricket
Time to give up on this cricket podcast. Apart from the dull delivery, the hesitancy with which the Simons offer criticism of certain English players has made it an unbearable listen. Root being a prime example. Apparently getting out to a catch by a fielder specifically placed at leg slip for him is “unlucky”. When it’s the absolute opposite! Other leading players are at worst “disappointing”. Presumably it’s to avoid any of them being mean to Mann next time he’s sent to interview them. It’s mealy-mouthed and uninteresting.
