The Casual Criminalist has been my go-to podcast in basically anything I do in my day to day life. Whether it being when I am drawing or just brushing my teeth, the podcast is on either way! I am not a critic but I do know not to write down my crimes or tell other people about them. No crimes committed, I swear. 10/10 would recommend to everyone who is into true crime!

Love all the shows Simon does, and seeing as I don't wanna offer Google and YouTube more info by registering, decided to sub and review here. I really have no idea how Simon has any free time. At least he doesn't write these, Callum has that job and he does it well and of course Jen does the editing... actually Simon has the easiest job, but he needs to keep the beard oiled and those soothing vocals, well, soothing. So good job all 3 of ya, I think there is enough weird stuff in the world that your job security won't be an issue.
The highlights of the week!
This podcast/show/youtubeshow/etc is just so damn good. It strikes this great balance between humour and and being interesting and informative. The episodes are very varied and really focuses on a story being interesting and not just well known, so you get a lot of both famous and less famous cases. The whole cold reading concept is great and you get to follow Simon along as you both try to figure out where the story is headed, a process which often gets drawn out by Simons adorable tangents, remarks and experiences :)
Callum, the writer, does such a good job of creating a compelling and often , even in the face of horror, genuinely funny narrative. It's also very refreshing that he actually seem to research these topics thoroughly, cutting through the sensationalising nature and forced conspiracies many others often chase and focus on. A must listen for anyone who likes true crime and can accept other people not putting too much weight on things like ghosts, ghouls and its ilk.
