Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is July 7th.
Let's dive right in, shall we?
Today is National Chocolate Day! A day dedicated to celebrating that delightful treat that has brought joy to our taste buds and, let’s be honest, our souls. Whether it's dark, milk, white, or any creative concoction in between, chocolate has a special place in many hearts.
In honor of this sweet celebration, I've chosen a quote from the beloved author and humorist, Erma Bombeck. She once said,
"Seize the moment. Remember all those women on the 'Titanic' who waved off the dessert cart."Erma Bombeck had a knack for combining humor with wisdom, and this quote is a perfect example. On National Chocolate Day, it serves as a delightful reminder to indulge in the simple pleasures of life. Sometimes, we get so caught up in being overly cautious or sticking to strict routines that we forget to enjoy the small joys.
Think about it. How often have you skipped a treat or a fun activity because you were trying to be "good"? While discipline has its place, so does joy. And sometimes, that joy comes in the form of a piece of chocolate.
Remember Oscar Wilde's quote from a couple of days ago... Everything in Moderation, including moderation.
So, today, let’s take Erma’s advice to heart. Whether it’s enjoying a chocolate bar, savoring a rich brownie, or indulging in a creamy hot chocolate, give yourself permission to seize the moment and delight in a sweet treat. Life is unpredictable, and sometimes, a little chocolate is just what you need to brighten your day.
Thank you for joining me today on The Daily Quote. Remember, take a moment to indulge and savor the sweetness of life, just like a piece of your favorite chocolate. But before you bite into that delicious piece of choc 0 la please take a second to follow or subscribe in your podcast app and that will make sure you see another great quote tomorrow too.
Have a wonderful day, and I’ll see you back here tomorrow.

Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is July 6th...
It is International Kissing Day. Yes, it’s a day dedicated to the simple yet profound act of showing affection through a kiss. Whether it’s a peck on the cheek, a kiss on the hand, or a romantic smooch, today is all about spreading love and joy.
Now, let's move on to today's quote, which comes from the beloved Dr. Seuss:
Dr. Seuss is popular here on the daily quote - this is the third quote from Dr. Seuss, who wonce said...
"You know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams."Dr. Seuss captures the essence of what it means to be in love and how those tender moments, like a kiss, can make reality feel magical. Just like a kiss, love has the power to make the mundane extraordinary, to transform our everyday experiences into something remarkable.
So, as you go about your day, perhaps you can share a kiss with someone special. Remember that it’s the small gestures that often carry the most meaning and can brighten someone’s day in the most unexpected ways.
I was listening to a podcast with Peter Diamondis where they were talking about Blue Zones and why people live longer, healthy lives in certain geographic areas and demographic groups...
One of the contributers to a long, healthy life is having a purpose. A reason to jump out of bed in the morning. Peter's guest said that the two most dangerous years in terms of mortality risk are the year you are born and the year you retire. When you are a newborn there is an infant mortality risk and when you retire you lose your purpose.
So remember what Dr. Seuss says... You know your in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.
Just like being in love with someone can keep you up at night... having a purpose can give you a driving force in your life.
Thank you for joining me today on The Daily Quote. I hope this touch of whimsy and affection adds a bit of magic to your day. Enjoy your International Kissing Day, and remember to spread the love. Until tomorrow, take care!
    Bisous!

Did you know that today is National Workaholics Day? Yes, that's right, a day dedicated to those who just can't seem to leave the office or put down their laptops. Whether you're hustling for a dream or simply can't get enough of those spreadsheets, today is your day to shine...or maybe take a well-deserved break.
In honor of National Workaholics Day, today's quote is from the American novelist and screenwriter, Michael Cunningham. He said,
"The secret of getting ahead is getting started."This quote speaks directly to the heart of what it means to be a workaholic. Sometimes, the hardest part is simply beginning the journey, taking that first step towards your goals. It's easy to get caught up in the never-ending cycle of tasks and deadlines, but remember, all great achievements start with that initial push.
So today, as you juggle your responsibilities and perhaps feel the weight of your workload, take a moment to appreciate the progress you've made simply by starting. And maybe, just maybe, allow yourself a little time to relax and recharge.
Thanks for joining me on The Daily Quote. I'm Andrew McGivern, and I look forward to sharing more wisdom with you tomorrow. Have a productive and balanced day!

Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is the fourth of July.
Today is Independence Day in the United States. It's a day of fireworks, barbecues, and celebrating freedom. So, whether you’re setting off sparklers or just enjoying a day off, I hope you’re ready for a great quote to accompany your festivities.
Today's quote is from the ever-inspiring Eleanor Roosevelt:
"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."Independence Day is all about celebrating freedom and the pursuit of happiness, and Eleanor Roosevelt’s words perfectly capture that spirit. The Founding Fathers had a dream for a nation built on liberty and the belief that everyone should have the chance to pursue their own dreams. It’s a reminder that the big changes often start with a dream and a belief in its beauty.
So, as you celebrate today, think about the dreams you hold dear. Whether it’s a personal goal, a career aspiration, or a vision for a better world, remember that believing in the beauty of your dreams is the first step towards making them a reality.
Enjoy the fireworks tonight, and let them remind you that every spark started with a single, beautiful dream.
That’s it for today’s episode. Enjoy your Independence Day, keep dreaming big, and I’ll see you tomorrow for another daily quote.

Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is July 3rd.
On this day, we celebrate National Stay Out of the Sun Day. Yes, you heard that right. It's a day dedicated to giving your skin a break from the sun's rays, especially if you tend to roast like a marshmallow at a campfire. So, if you needed an excuse to stay indoors and binge-watch your favorite show or read a good book, today’s your day!
Now, let’s dive into our quote of the day. It comes from the American essayist and poet Ralph Waldo Emerson:
“Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air.”I know what you're thinking. Why are we talking about sunshine on National Stay Out of the Sun Day? Well, there's a method to this madness. Emerson's words remind us of the importance of experiencing and enjoying the natural world around us. But just like everything else in life, balance is key. While it's wonderful to live in the sunshine, sometimes it's just as important to appreciate the shade.
On this National Stay Out of the Sun Day, think of Emerson’s quote as a gentle nudge to find that balance. Enjoy the sun, but don’t forget to take care of yourself. Give your skin a rest, stay hydrated, and perhaps find joy in the cooler, quieter places. After all, life is about savoring all its different shades and temperatures, not just the sunniest ones.
So, today, take a moment to enjoy the comforts of the indoors. Maybe treat yourself to a refreshing drink or a cool swim in the shade. Celebrate the day by finding your balance between the sunshine and the shadows.
That's it for today’s episode. Remember to find joy in both the light and the shade, and take care of yourself. Thanks for joining me on The Daily Quote. I’m Andrew McGivern, and I look forward to spending tomorrow with you as well. But in order for that to happen you need to hit the follow (or subscribe) button in your podcast app.. Have a great day!

Today is July 2nd and welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is National Anisette Day?
Lets dive right in... Anisette is a sweet, anise-flavored liqueur, often enjoyed as an aperitif. Now, I don't know about you, but any holiday that involves celebrating a delightful drink sounds like a good idea. So, raise your glass to that!
Today's quote comes from Oscar Wilde, who once said,
"Everything in moderation, including moderation." This little gem from Wilde fits our holiday like a perfectly poured glass of anisette.
Oscar Wilde, known for his sharp wit and hedonistic lifestyle, reminds us of the importance of balance. It’s a fun paradox—he’s essentially telling you to be moderate, but also to indulge a little. So, while you enjoy your anisette today, remember that it’s okay to let loose every now and then. Life’s about finding that sweet spot between restraint and revelry.
Just think of it this way: if you lived every day in perfect moderation, where would the stories come from? After all, “that one wild night” usually doesn't start with a salad and a glass of water.
So, celebrate National Anisette Day with a toast to balance, a tip of the hat to indulgence, and a nod to moderation—just the way Oscar Wilde would have wanted it. Enjoy your day, sip responsibly, and remember to savor those moments of joyous imbalance.
Thank you for joining me on The Daily Quote. I'm Andrew McGivern, reminding you to find your perfect balance today and every day. Cheers!
