In an attempt to talk news from the week we scrape the bottom of the barrel of updates in our favourite industry to talk petitions about games staying active long after developers are done with them, we raise a glass to LittleBigPlanet 3 and Media Molecule as a whole as the formers servers are shut off for good and absolutely nobody gets excited for the announcement of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
In Game of the Week Josh talks checking the latest EA Oiriginal Tales of Kenzera and the fascinating Harold Halibut, Kat gets exactly what it says on the tin in Wizard with a Gun, Ethan has his eyes set on the glorious Octopath Traveler II whilst Rossko and Scully check their embargoes so they can talk the brand new Top Spin.

A huge thank you to everyone who has listened to this show from its inception and continue to support it to this day. Also this week ex-Blizzard boss Mike Ybarra has been on Twitter this week discussing the possibilities of 'tipping' game developers at the end of a game you like. The three of us weigh in on whether or not we could see this idea moving forward and if we could see it happening with such strong regulation on monetisation in gaming already. Will the tips end up it the hands on the right people? Will it cause bosses to pay their developers less? We try and work out a way through to a satisfying end.
In Game of the Week Miles sings the praises of the awesome Dave the Diver now it's finally landed on PlayStation and Kat concurs as she also praises the wonderful Dave the Diver and surprises Rossko with a beautiful Dave the Diver remix of one of his own songs. It's quite something. Rossko? Well he's been playing the Sea of Thieves Private Beta on PlayStation.
In recommendations Kat talks The Octopus Murders on Netflix (true crime! octopuses and stuff! databases!) whilst Miles wants to share with the world the wonders of Kat's banana bread and Nolan's Interstellar

Deck-Nine Toxic Studio Culture Revealed, Microsoft plan Gears and Call of Duty updates and Xbox preservation

Deck-Nine Toxic Studio Culture Revealed, Microsoft plan Gears and Call of Duty updates and Xbox preservation

This week on The Finger Guns Podcast we're getting a bit excited for episode 250 and talk all about the weeks gaming news whilst derailing the entire podcast to talk football and Taylor Swift. Because of course it did.
We get into the news that Xbox are taking game preservation very seriously by establishing a new team to work on just that. We also get into the unfortunate news that Finger Guns favourite Deck Nine Studio have been accused of a toxic studio environment by developers. We get into this rather horrid story with huge Life is Strange fans talking about their sadness hearing the story.
We also get into what the hell we wanna see from Gears of War 6 and the next Call of Duty game as they're due to be revealed very soon. Basically, more guns and better everything.
Over at Game of the Week Kat has jumped into her backlog to check out Hades, Josh has carried on his time with Rise of the Ronin. Miles has checked out the demo for Knights in Tight Spaces, the Ground Shatter spin-off to Fights in Tight Spaces and checking out the mellow chill of Spirit City: Lofi Sessions. Rossko has been playing Fortnite. Sorry.
And in recommendations Miles talks about heading to a Hans Zimmer concert and losing his freakin' mind. Kat has been checking out Fletcher's new album In Search of the Antidote. Josh recommends another Paramount+ film with the superb Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem and Rossko gets his yeehaw on with the brand new Beyonce album Cowboy Carter.

On this very special episode of The Finger Guns Podcast Miles sits down with Byterocker Games' Maximilian Grausteint to talk about their upcoming rhythm slayer-em-up Beat Slayer, a game we've had on our radar for a while and finally due for release this week. Miles chats with Max all about the creation of the game, the inspirations and what they hope to do in the future with the game.

Dragons Dogma II controversy, Toys for Bob return to Microsoft and Marvel 1943 looks rad!

This week on The Finger Guns Podcast Josh takes hosting duties as Rossko is otherwise engaged, along with Kat and Miles as they talk through the weeks gaming news and what they've been playing.

Elsewhere Kat gets very excited as the news is revealed that Toys for Bob have reportedly joined forces with Microsoft to work on their latest title. There's too much to get hyped about here and we speculator what they could be working on now they have access to the IP they brought back to life so brilliantly.
