    Olivia Wormer

    Olivia Wormer

The fifth and final episode of The Thing About Sales features Olivia Van Wormer.
Along with Olivia’s title of “Account Executive” at PandaDoc, she also has the title “World Traveler.” At the age of just 19, Olivia bought a one-way ticket out of the states and subsequently spent the next year of her life traveling to over 15 different countries in multiple continents.
In this episode, Olivia and I talk about her experiences and inspiration for her trip, and then we dive into some hard questions discussing how to thrive and not drown at a new company. Demonstrating this perfectly in her own career, Olivia was promoted to a “closing” role in her company after working only one month in a position that was completely foreign to her.
Olivia is fantastic at giving practical advice that applies to everyone, and her adventurous take on life is a refreshing thing to listen to in the seriousness and busyness of life.

    Marcus Miller

    Marcus Miller

Today’s episode is the fourth of five episodes in this sales podcast. On the episode today I’m talking with Marcus Miller. Marcus started his sales career less than two years ago and has already been able to work in three different companies, creating a ton of value for each of them. His range of experience with the different companies gives him a cool perspective that helps to paint a more general idea of what sales is and how it works.
Worth noting, you’ll hear us talk about Reliant Technology in the call. You may recognize this name as it is the same company that Nick Rundlett, my first podcast guest, works at. Marcus started there in July of 2018 and at the release of this podcast has just become a Sales Team Lead there.

    Luke Ruffing

    Luke Ruffing

In episode three of The Thing About Sales I am talking to Luke Ruffing.
Luke is currently an Account Executive at PandaDoc in Saint Petersburg, Florida. He was homeschooled all the way from Kindergarten through high school and then after high school, he spent a few years working and saving. After this, he went through the Praxis program. Luke is known throughout the Praxis community as someone who truly crushed the apprenticeship at his business partner, and he has continued to crush it ever since.
Luke also has a highly competitive sports background having played golf all while growing up achieving scratch at 16 years old and attaining top 10 in Juniors in the New England area, a highly competitive area for golfers.
In the interview, we talk about how golf impacted his sales career, how his homeschooling background increased opportunity, moving from a little town in Maine to SanFrancisco, his unique strategy for cold calling, how to create conversation with others, important software to learn, and plenty more.
Luke has a super down to earth approach to the work he has accomplished, and his no-nonsense approach to sales was incredibly enlightening to me, someone who has no experience in sales.

    Mitchell Broderieck

    Mitchell Broderieck

Episode two of The Thing About Sales features Mitchell Broderick.
Mitchell is currently VP of client development at a company called Platform. He was the first participant in a business apprenticeship program called Praxis and has since amassed several years of experience in the sales world, which he has been extremely successful in.
In the interview, we talk about everything from Taco Bell to dropping out of college to staying engaged in a sales role after being there for a couple of years.
Mitchell has some really great advice for connecting with others and has a very real personality. I learned a ton talking with him, and I hope you listen and are able to as well!

    Nick Rundlett

    Nick Rundlett

In the first episode of The Thing About Sales, I am talking to Nick Rundlett.
Nick is currently the sales development manager at a company called Reliant Technology based out of Atlanta Georgia. He and I talk about selling candy to kids in school, personality types, advice going into interviews, how to learn quickly in a new job, and a ton of other stuff!
I had a blast talking to Nick and hearing his insights and stories about his experience in the sales world, and found myself realizing that so much of what he talks about applies to every job out there.
I apologize for the echo sounds on the portion of the episode where I am talking. Will make sure that doesn’t happen in future episodes!
Thanks for listening! If you’re interested in getting updates on the podcast each week, please sign up for my email list here!
