This Black Girl Devyn Nance

Now, we’re a few episodes away from the end of season 1 so I wanted to share some life updates and have an quick chat about uncertainty and how I’ve been dealing with that. We can’t stop people from making judgments, but this week This Black Girl talks stereotypes she’s experienced personally and how she’s flipped them!

For this week’s episode, This Black Girl reflects on tradition, especially around the holidays. As a twenty-something, she thinks about how the holidays looked when she was a child, how they look as an adult, and why it’s so important to continue those traditions, or iterations, in the future — to pass on knowledge, build legacies, and share stories and memories during the holidays and beyond!

This week, This Black Girl shares the lessons she learned from her trip to China and everything in between! Tune in ya'll because This Black Girl never imagined she would get to spend two weeks in China and learn so much on her first international trip. So, for today, all she has to say is do the things that make you uncomfortable.

She danced for 14 years, including jazz, ballet, tap, lyrical, modern, contemporary, etc.  Back in her day (wow feeling old af here), she was not among many other Black girls, more were on the dance team with her by the time she graduated middle school. Let's talk through her challenges, lessons learned, and more this week!
