Montreal GP Reflection - Lando's Missed Win, Ricciardo's Response To Criticism, Russell POLE | EP19

Montreal GP Reflection - Lando's Missed Win, Ricciardo's Response To Criticism, Russell POLE | EP19

Welcome back to the Track Limits Podcast! Tune in with Henny, Swish and Cristina as they unpack all the highlights from the recently concluded Montreal Grand Prix.
When attending the Canadian Grand Prix, it's wise to pack a rain jacket and umbrella, as the race has seen wet conditions for several years running. This year was no exception, with rain affecting practice, qualifying, and the race itself.
While Red Bull didn't dominate as usual, teams like McLaren and Mercedes rose to the challenge. George Russell secured pole on Saturday, matching Max Verstappen's lap time. The race was chaotic, featuring Logan's DNF which triggered a safety car, a thrilling battle for victory between Max, George, and Lando, and the Haas drivers making bold moves on wet tires.
Max Verstappen ultimately won, but it was a hard-fought victory. Teams like Alpine capitalized on the conditions to score points, and Daniel Ricciardo silenced critics with a strong P8 finish.
As the home race for Track Limits, the Canadian Grand Prix delivered excitement and drama. A big thank you to our partners for granting us access to drivers, events, and the race itself.

Monaco GP Reflection - Charles Wins Home Race, Checo Under Pressure, Changes Needed Next Year | EP16

Welcome back to the Track Limits Podcast! Tune in with Henny, Mikey, Swish and Feven as they unpack all the highlights from the recently concluded Monaco Grand Prix.
We want to first thank our partners at Rec Watches for sponsoring this episode. Rec Watches is a Danish independent watch brand specializing in manufacturing timepieces infused with the DNA of motorsport legends. All eyes were fixed on Charles Leclerc this weekend, with hopes high that he might finally shatter the curse that has shadowed his career: winning his home race. From the onset of FP1, it was evident he wouldn't allow anything to stand in his way. Setting benchmarks beyond reach, his confidence going into the race was unparalleled.
The Monaco Grand Prix, entrenched in the city's legacy, has remained unchanged for a considerable time despite Formula 1 car regulations evolving to produce larger, longer cars. Negotiating the narrow streets has become increasingly challenging, rendering overtaking nearly impossible. This year proved no exception, with fewer than five on-track passes throughout the entire race, compounded by a red flag on Lap 1 prompting all teams to opt for a single set of tires for the duration.
Fans are clamouring for Formula 1 to revitalize the Monaco Grand Prix, proposing various changes such as altering the track layout, introducing a DRS section, reverting to classic Grand Prix regulations with different car specifications, or mandating three pit stops. Numerous compelling ideas aim to inject more excitement into an event that has lacked thrills in recent years.
Anticipation initially suggested Max would dominate yet again this year. However, with four different race winners already and a tightly contested championship battle, the season has proven to be far more unpredictable and captivating than anticipated.

Imola GP Reflection - McLaren Fighting For Wins, Williams Struggles On, Stroll Saves AM?! | EP15

Imola GP Reflection - McLaren Fighting For Wins, Williams Struggles On, Stroll Saves AM?! | EP15

Welcome back to the Track Limits Podcast! Tune in with Henny, Mikey, and Swish as they unpack all the highlights from the recently concluded Imola Grand Prix.
Following his breakthrough victory, Lando Norris and the McLaren team shifted their focus from podium placements to clinching more race wins in the future. However, Red Bull's bid to reassert dominance hit a snag with a challenging FP1, FP2, and FP3, casting doubts on their performance. Nevertheless, Max Verstappen defied the odds by securing pole position, outpacing the formidable McLaren duo.
Imola, renowned for its historic circuit, initially offered little excitement during Sunday's race until Lando intensified the pressure on Max in the final 15 laps. As Max grappled with tire degradation, Lando's tires surged, resulting in a nail-biting finish with Max crossing the line merely 0.7 seconds ahead. This close call suggests that Red Bull might not enjoy the commanding season many anticipated.
Amidst the strain of a lacklustre team weekend, Max added a 24-hour sim racing event to his schedule, dividing his time between track and hotel room simulations with his racing team. Remarkably, they clinched victory with a Verstappen-esque lead of 32 seconds.
With the Monaco Grand Prix looming as a consecutive race weekend, anticipation is high. Last year, we witnessed a captivating qualifying session on this track. Will we witness the end of the Charles Leclerc curse, or will it persist?
