A conversation about Mental Health W/ DJ Williams

A conversation about Mental Health W/ DJ Williams

In this Episode, I have a conversation with my friend DJ about Mental Health. Me and DJ are not Mental Health professionals, we just have had many conversations over the years about Mental Health and it's played a big role in our friendship. Our hope is that the conversation that we have can lead to more conversations for others around Mental Health, hopefully breaking the stigma and taboo that can surround those conversations.

I do want to give a TRIGGER WARNING at the 26 minute mark DJ brings up an interaction with Sexual Assault. We do not go into explicit details, but we do know that this could bring up some unwanted trauma for some. If you have encountered any type of sexual assault or sexual abuse and haven't had the space to talk about it we want to encourage you to call the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-4673 and I want to encourage you to please seek out professional help if you have any type of trauma in your life, I believe that no one should have to navigate through trauma on their own.

    Monuments & Milestones

Chris Thurton reflects on the idea of restructuring our relationship with National Holiday's and Monuments. Posing the question, if we looked at monuments as milestones maybe as a society we could find it easier to tear down or disestablish the broken & no longer relevant ones?

INSTAGRAM LIVE- The Black Experience is Not Monolithic Pt. 3 w/ Dan Nkemontoh

This is part 3 of a 3 part conversation I had over Instagram Live (apologies for the insta-live audio) hearing some stories, experiences and thoughts from Heather Carmichael, Jael Chambers and Dan Nkemontoh on May 30th following the highly publicized murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and George Floyd resulting in a large public outcry seeking justice for black lives that seems to finally have spread beyond just the black community. In part 3 you will hear the part of the conversation with my friend Dan Nkemontoh
