Why Should You Make a Proof of Concept Short‪?‬ Dare to Dream Productions Podcast

    • TV och film

Why should you create a proof of concept short? Learn how director and Emmy winning editor Kate Hackett made her feminist short, Oleander, to serve as a proof of concept for her feature.

Kate Hackett is a documentary and narrative film editor known best for her Netflix documentary series Cheer. She's also edited Emmy winning Netflix documentary series Last Chance U. Her short Oleander, which she wrote, directed, and edited premiered at the Oscar-qualifying film festival, HollyShorts. It explores female sexuality and identity through a strong female protagonist who has agency and is proud of who she is. Something we don’t see much in Films and TV shows.

Check out Oleander here: https://www.oleandershortfilm.com/

Creating a proof of concept short film is a great way to get your name out there, raise financing for your feature, and possibly get picked up at a film festival.
