Junie Swadron is an author, psychotherapist, speaker, workshop facilitator, and professional writing coach. She has spent the last twenty years guiding thousands of students in writing and sharing their life stories through a deep and powerful process that completely transformed how they experienced their life journey.

Junie has married her psychotherapy skills and book coaching skills into helping writer’s become authors to work with whatever emotional might arise -on the spectrum from resistance to excitement to published author!

She has worked extensively with therapy and the arts since 1989. Junie has an innate ability to tune into the root cause of a situation and bring awareness and clarity to her clients in order for them to make sense of their lives and heal their pain. Junie moved from Toronto in 1998 where she was a clinical member of the Ontario Society of Psychotherapists, certified life skills coach, and worked in private practice as well as at a well-known drug and alcohol facility.

Junie sees the therapeutic process and the creative process as one. “It is about accessing a special place within us where serenity, love, courage and truth reside. It is from this place that we begin to know our true spirit. It is from this place we begin to heal.”

What makes Junie Swadron an extraordinary healer is she knows “both sides of the couch.” Junie was diagnosed with manic-depressive illness at age 19, and has lived with its disturbing challenges for over thirty years. Her personal experiences have taught her coping strategies for choosing health and wellness again and again. She likes to say, “My illness keeps me humble, grateful, and resourceful.” She brings to her clients great compassion and joy knowing that underneath all the labels, judgments and fear, we are all doing our very best. In a sentence, Junie offers hope to what often feels inconsolable, along with take-home tools that bring peace of mind, strength and joy back into the lives of her clients.

One of the most important messages that Junie Swadron delivers is about being true to oneself—about finding your voice no matter what. No matter when and how you may have lost it. And then learn to use your voice in ways that honour who you are. Dare to speak your truth. Be willing to stand tall now. You matter. So much. So very much. Be brave. Be bold. Be true.

In Junie’s own words… What’s Your Story?

I’m Junie Swadron and I am known for helping coach people like you to honour the journeys they’ve walked, the unique paths that have led them to who they are today. I am fascinated by the stories that make up a person’s life. And even though you and I may have never met, I am sincere when I ask you, What’s Your Story?

You see, ever since I was a teenager and throughout my life, people have told me their stories. Personal ones. Often it was from strangers. Then they would say, “I’ve never told another living soul that!” They seemed surprised. Frankly, I was too. However, over time, when enough people were doing it, it became no surprise at all. It seemed quite natural. And I think i might know the reason. I naturally feel inside my own body another person’s joy and pain. And I have always shown my sincere interest and listen with reverence when people share their sacred stories with me. I consider it an honour and a privilege.

Junie currently lives in Victoria, British Columbia with the love of her life and enjoys their humble home by the sea.

Episode #17 with Special Guest Ell Graniel

In this episode, host Junie Swadron talks to fellow author, Ell Graniel.

Over 30 years of research in the relationship between communication, learning styles, and quantum physics has gone into the creation of of Mind Body Language (MBL) and Truespeak™, her intra-personal communication training company.

Truespeak™ is the language the “observer” speaks in your mind and is the one directly connected to your higher power. When you learn how to meditate, you strengthen that connection. Guided meditation is the first step toward that accomplishment. Truespeak™ also teaches you how to connect with your higher power to resolve conflict, turmoil, and unresolved issues in your thoughts and actions.

Ell Graniel created this great working space with The Academy of Self-Knowledge. IDEA Fit, and several health clubs and spas have also benefited from her expertise.

Mind Body Language (MBL) is the class-room style learning about how the voices in your heard control your actions and attitudes and how to take back that control and put peace in your corner again.

Educational institutions, organizations, and corporations are just a few of the types of clients for which she trains and presents the MBL theories. Some of her diverse clientele includes the Los Angeles County Office of Education, Long Beach Chamber of Commerce, the Boy Scouts of America, Beachbody, and 24 -hour Fitness.

Her forte is keynote speaking and guided meditation, as her approach is direct, and her humor and insight are refreshing and enlightening.

Episode #16 Part 2 with Special Guest Eric Hellman

Episode #16 Part 2 with Special Guest Eric Hellman

In this episode, host Junie Swadron talks to long time friend, Eric Hellman.

Eric’s passion is creating positive change in the world. And it’s a path he’s walked with deep commitment for 45 years.

Heading towards a career in maths and science, Eric had a ‘consciousness shift’ in nature (in 1973) which guided him into environmental work. However, by the early 1980s, he was experiencing severe conflict and emotional pain, in both his work and a young marriage. Nothing he did to improve them seemed to help – until he was pushed, ‘kicking and screaming,’ into exploring his spirituality. This larger perspective on life led to a dramatic shift in the way he thinks, works and lives.

Through listening to his inner wisdom, personal healing, facing fears and doing what he loves, Eric has enjoyed work in many different fields – as an environment consultant, ghostwriter, small business owner, resume consultant, international event designer, and caregiver in dementia and aging, to name a few. He now coaches people in change, and is a speaker on spirituality.

How many of us want to improve our lives & relationships, and make the world a better place? Almost everyone. Yet who hasn’t also faced that deep resistance – from others, and within ourselves – to making change?

Why is that, where does it come from, and what can we do about it? That’s what I want to explore, so to create more of the life and world we long for. – Eric
