    Rest Like it Matters

    Rest Like it Matters

    KEY SCRIPTURE

    Matthew 11:28-30
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

    PRAYER

    Jesus,
I know life can be tiresome. Does life have to be this hard? Teach me to rest like you did. Bring a refreshing wave of rest upon me. Holy Spirit, search me and know me. Bring restoration to my life.
    Amen

God Became so we might BECOME

God Became so we might BECOME

    KEY SCRIPTURE

    John 1:1-14 NIV

    The Word Became Flesh
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.
9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

    PRAYER

    Holy Spirit,
    I’m ready! Speak to me!
    Amen!

    Family Trees • Week 3

    Family Trees • Week 3

    KEY SCRIPTURE

    Ephesians 2:1-10

1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.
4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

    PRAYER

God, I praise you because you are faithful to me in ways I don’t even understand.
Holy Spirit, thank you for your faithfulness, even when I lack faith.
This morning, help me to see how good you’ve been to me, even when I can’t see it or understand it. Where I have sinned against you, others or myself, I am sorry Lord.
I know if I put my faith, hope and trust in Jesus, I am forgiven not because of anything I’ve done but because of you who are and what Jesus has done for me.
Holy Spirit, use your Word and your Power to help me become more like Jesus! Open my ears to hear, my eyes to see and help me focus on Jesus!
In the powerful name of Jesus I pray,
    Amen!

    LOVE Like it Matters

    LOVE Like it Matters

    KEY SCRIPTURE

    1 John 4:11-12
11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

    PRAYER

I praise and thank you, Father, for Your steadfast love towards me. Thank you, Lord, for Your never-failing faithfulness, comfort and grace, which is new every morning and refreshed every day. Thank you that You are a God who cares for each and every one of Your children. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for your wisdom; teach me to share the love of God with those around me. Amen.
