This unnamed woman was preparing her last meal for her and a son when the prophet Elijah approached her and asked her to make him a cake. Even though she was in the midst of a famine and didn't know much about this prophet, yet she trusted in the word of the Lord and was able to receive enough food to outlast the famine. As we commemorate women's month this is a great example of someone who had many obstacles as a widow woman, yet she continued to trust the Lord in spite of those obstacles. If you are single separated divorced or a widow the example of this godly woman will encourage you to continue to persevere and trust the Lord even when you're not sure where your next meal is coming from.
